James Schefter Eulogy from Ordeen Flom
If you are adding verbiage about some things we knew about Jim, here are some:
Every July and Thanksgiving for the past 4 years, we, meaning any one of the
old school buddies, would gather at Jim's house in Park City. It was
becoming a tradition that we all enjoyed and was always fun to see who could
make one or the other.
Jim would schedule summer concerts, or some fun winter thing in November. We
have seen the Utah Symphony Orchestra, Peter, Paul and Mary and others.
Every Sunday, in the July visit, before we all left to go our separate ways,
we went south of Park City to a little town that had the best Brunch around.
It usually took a couple of hours to eat and pay our final visiting, before
we left.
These will be missed greatly, and I think could be continued, something I may
want to do.
Going to Park City in the summer was pleasurable because of the setting,
great friends gathering and the late nights the guys did.
While there, Jim was usually in the middle of writing one of his mystery
books, and we would all be reading pages as he produced them, sometimes we
could hardly wait for the outcome. I do hope these will be published. They
were pretty good, kept you on the tip of your seat until the end. He put a
lot of his old friends in them, sometimes you had to read a little more to
figure out which friend it was!
Thanks, you can clean this up a little if you wish, but I think a lot of us
will remember those times.
Thanks, Alice and Ordeen
